Limit on automatic discounts

Shopify places certain limitations on the number of discounts that can be created, which also impacts the number of discounts that can be managed through the Simple Discounts app.

Automatic Discounts

Shopify allows a maximum of 25 active automatic discounts per store. This limit includes app-based discounts, so automatic discounts created with the Simple Discounts app count toward the same total as the ones you create in Shopify.

Only active discounts count toward the limit. Scheduled and expired discounts don't.

If your store has reached 25 active automatic discounts, Shopify won't let you create a new one, and some of your existing automatic discounts might not apply at checkout. To free up space, go to Discounts in your Shopify admin and deactivate any automatic discounts you no longer need.

Code Discounts

The Simple Discounts app doesn't limit how many code discounts you can create. Shopify does have a cumulative limit of 20,000,000 unique discount codes per store.
