Adding a mix and match bundle collection section to your theme

Once you've set up a mix-and-match bundle discount in Simple Discounts, the discount applies automatically at checkout. Customers still need to know the deal exists and find the products that qualify. This guide shows you how to build collection sections in your Shopify theme that showcase your mix-and-match offers.

Note: Section and setting names vary by theme. If you can't find a section or setting mentioned below, check your theme's documentation or contact your theme developer.

Getting started

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
2. Click Customize on the theme you want to edit.
3. In the left sidebar, click Add section where you want the new section to appear.

1. Showcasing a single collection

Example: "Buy any 3 from this collection and get 30% off."

Use this when your offer applies to one collection.

1. Add a section that shows products from one collection. In most themes, it's called Featured collection or Product list.
2. In the section settings, choose the collection that's part of your mix-and-match discount. The section shows products from that collection automatically, so you don't need to add products one by one.
3. Change the section heading to describe your offer, for example "Buy any 3 from this collection and get 30% off."
4. If your theme offers a carousel or slider layout, turn it on so customers can swipe through the products.
5. If your theme offers quick add, turn it on so customers can add products to their cart without leaving the page. Depending on your theme, this setting is in the section settings or under Theme settings.
6. Click Save.

2. Showcasing multiple collections

Example: "Pick any 3 from the Olive & Vinegar collection, 2 from Cheese, and 1 from Meat and get 20% off."

Use this when your offer asks customers to pick from several collections. A Collection list section shows a card for each collection, and customers click a card to browse its products.

1. Add a Collection list section.
2. Add each collection that's part of your offer (for example Olive & Vinegar, Cheese, and Meat). Depending on your theme, you choose the collections in the section settings or add a block for each one.
3. Each card uses the collection's title from Shopify. To change how a collection is named on the card, rename the collection under Products > Collections in your Shopify admin.
4. Use the section heading to explain the offer, for example "Pick any 3 from Olive & Vinegar, 2 from Cheese, and 1 from Meat and get 20% off."
5. Click Save.

3. Using tabbed collections

Tabs let customers switch between collections without leaving the section. Not every theme includes a tabbed collection section. If yours doesn't, you can add one with an app from the Shopify App Store, or use a collection list (section 2) instead.

If your theme supports tabbed collections:

1. Add the tabbed collection section (the name depends on your theme).
2. Add a tab for each collection in your offer and name each tab after its collection (for example Beverages, Chocolate, and Produce).
3. Show the discount clearly above the tabs, for example "Pick any 3 from Beverages, 2 from Chocolate, and 1 from Produce and get 20% off."
4. Click Save.

Test your offer
