Welcome to Simple Discounts! Simple Discounts lets you build mix-and-match bundle discounts, quantity break (tiered) discounts, and time-based discounts. It works behind the scenes to apply discounts in the cart and at checkout, with no storefront widgets or theme changes.

Key features and benefits

  1. Instant discounts with Shopify Functions: Simple Discounts uses Shopify Functions to apply discounts in real time. Discounts apply as soon as products are added to the cart, so your customers get a smooth experience.
  2. No code or theme edits needed: Simple Discounts works behind the scenes without any code or theme changes. It's a good fit for headless setups, or if you want to keep your theme clean.
  3. Discount types you can customize:
    • Mix-and-match bundle discounts: Let customers build their own bundles from one or more collections, like a personalized 6-pack from 24 options, or items from different collections for a combined discount.
    • Quantity break (tiered) discounts: Encourage larger orders with pricing that automatically improves as the quantity grows. You can limit eligibility to specific customers, such as wholesale buyers, using customer tags.
    • Time-based discounts: Discount products automatically as they get close to (or pass) their expiry date. Great for food, beauty, and other products with a shelf life.
  4. Exclusive customer discounts: Target specific customers using customer tags. This works well for early access promotions, loyalty rewards, and wholesale pricing.

Simple Discounts vs. Simple Bundles

Simple Discounts and Simple Bundles take different approaches to promotions.

Simple Discounts focuses on individual product discounts. As each product is added to the cart, the discount applies automatically or through discount codes.

  • Customer journey: A customer visits several product pages, adds qualifying products to the cart one at a time, and sees the discount apply as soon as the cart meets the requirements.
  • Shopify orders admin: You'll see the discount applied to each qualifying product.

Simple Bundles treats products as part of a virtual bundle, with a parent product that contains its child products.

  • Customer journey: A customer goes to the bundle's product page, adds the bundle to the cart, and sees the parent product at checkout with a collapsed summary of its child products and any discount applied.
  • Shopify orders admin: You'll see the parent bundle and its child products, along with any discounts applied.

In summary, choose Simple Discounts for flexible, product-by-product discounts. Choose Simple Bundles for promotions built around a specific set of products sold together.

Shopify Scripts and custom development
