How to create a Build Your Own Bundle (BYOB) experience on Shopify
There are two different ways to create build-your-own-bundle experiences using our apps:
Using the Simple Discounts app
Simple Discounts takes a different approach to apply discounts based on predefined criteria or discount rules. Customers add eligible products to their cart, and discounts are automatically applied to each individual item. Unlike Simple Bundles, there’s no concept of a “parent” bundle and each product is added and discounted independently.
Use Simple Discounts to build mix-and-match bundle discounts, tiered and quantity break discounts, and time-based discounts, with advanced settings like customer tagging. It operates behind the scenes to apply discounts and maintain inventory accuracy, without modifying store themes. Discounts are applied instantly as eligible products are added to cart, providing a seamless shopping experience both online and in-stores (POS).
The example above is built with Simple Discounts, but it uses a custom-designed page created by our trusted agency partner, Three Acres. A customized theme and customer experience is optional and comes at an additional one-time cost, but offers a highly polished and tailored shopping experience to match your store’s brand. Using the Simple Bundles app
Simple Bundles' dedicated BYOB feature lets customers browse a visual grid of available products and pick only the items they want to include in their bundle. You can set pack sizes with tiered discounts (e.g. Choose 3 for 15% off, Choose 5 for 20% off), and customers can add as few or as many items as you allow.
